Mousetrap to note holder in one afternoon!

Hiya

A while back I was busy mooching on the web as you do, having a bit of a blog hop and I came across a post on http://shellyhickox.blogspot.co.uk/ aka Stamptramp  on an alternative use for a wooden mousetrap. Yes I did say mousetrap.................... Shelly had gained inspiration from another persons blog on how to turn these vile little killing machines into a work of art.

Well I just had to have a go, but have you ever tried to by a wooden mousetrap lately? Not as easy as you think Finally tracked one down and sat looking at it for a while.  I was having a hard time trying to visualise something arty from something so vile. Then yesterday morning again mooching on the web and up popped a post from Hel's Sunday Stamper challenge blog. This weeks theme is................. male themed, inspiration hit as to what I could do with this little wooden object and as they say the rest is history. Why not pop along and visit Hel's and her amazing blog at http://pinkleart.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/sunday-stamper-week-210-this-boy.html

Wooden killing machine into a magnetic note holder.

Pop a magnet on the back, stick to the fridge and job done.

These two little bundles of magic arrived last week.  How pretty do they look, gotta love AFTH for their presentation. http://www.afth.co.uk/

What was inside -  Summer colours of distress and boy are they really fab.  I Luv the blue.

Thanks for stopping by my little space of art.  Would love you to leave a comment.

A little bit of pink to help the blues

Hiya

I needed to make something that was a little bit out there to help lift my mood.  Something like this would have normally taken me a day to complete but unfortunately due to PAIN it has taken me from Sunday morning. I just cannot work for long periods of time......................So what did I make.

Well when I need a lift out comes the Dylusions..........................Nothing makes me smile more

What did I use to make this amazing creation.

  • Dylusions Inks - Melted Chocolate, Lemon Zest, Fresh Lime, Vibrant Turquoise
  • Dylusions Stamps - Around the Edge,Background love, Doolally Dorris, Quintessential Quotes, Bits of this
  • Dylusions Stencil
  • Dy's House download
  • Wendy Vecchi - Accents for Art (flower pattern for the rose)
  • Ranger - Gesso
  • Distress Stain - Picket Fence
These products are a complete dream to work with.  This is going in my spare room ready for a visit from my friend Katy Fox in July, cant wait.

I am going to enter this into the Sunday Stampers challenge as it is definitely pink and also the SSSS challenge as that has an anything goes theme!

Thanks for looking, don't forget to leave me a comment as I love to know what you think!

Tuck towers..............4 Days of procrastination

Hiya

Well  my first four days off and I am beginning to feel a  tiny bit like the old me! Have to be honest taking far longer than usual which tells me something.  Too much happened at once I think.................... Anyway lets get a way from the doom and gloom.............. what have I managed to create.

First up is my first attempt at using metal.  Wish I had the tools to do the work freehand, but they are now on the wish list.  The effect was created using one of Tims embossing folders, Ranger foil, Alcohol inks.  Have to say I am loving the look.

Next

The next few cards were created using the New spring colours of distress,  Ranger Specialist card stock for the first two (not feeling the love for card stock yet) and a new stamp of mine which I am feeling the love for, which strangely for me was a La Blanch stamp..

Next up on the tuck roll call is.................Using my favourite designer of all time products, the one, the only Dyan.

A couple of cards using Dylusions amazing inks, stamps and sayings.  Gotta love them colours.

Next
Another couple of cards using Distress stains,  Tim stamp and  paperartsy stamp, rock candy crackle.  Love how these turned out.

Next
Had to make another of these cards.  Love the affect of alcohol inks and Tim's stamp, beads, pins and dodgy flower
Then it was time for a little normal crafting with another paper bag book, this time for a new little girly bundle of joy.  Such a cute little memory book.  Love making these books as there are so many little spaces to keep memorabilia in.

Back of the book

Inside two sections - Plus two little cards that tuck away inside the bag to enable the new Mum to write about their new precious bundle of joy.

Well that's me for now.

Thanks for looking and please leave a comment as I love to read them.
