A little bit of Luv

Another hard week at the coal face and with absolutely no time for crafting in the evenings, but I  spent a few hours this morning making a little piece of  romance.

I have loved making this little Valentines book.  Inspiration for the project was taken from my very good friend and Editor of Craft Stamper Katy Fox.

Each pocket in the little book has a coupon which you can individually fill in with the surprise for the recipient, ie breakfast in bed, flowers every week, do the ironing, dinner for two, the ideas are limitless and subject to your imagination!!!

I love the fact you can individualise each coupon  and make them as personal to you and your loved one as you want and it doesn't have to cost a fortune.

As I promised myself I would commit to a challenge every week - going to submit this one into  Simon says Stamp and Show - Red Letter Day.

Grungy Monday Challenge

Last week just flew by and I had absolutely no time to craft. Working 9+ hour days is so not good for you or your soul, must try harder to not make a habit of it.

One of the reason I decided to have a blog this year was to spark my mojo into gear and start to use some of the mountain of products I have in my craft room.

I also wanted to make myself enter challenges and one of the weekly ones that I regularly view is Grungy Monday, run by the very talented Linda Ledbetter, if you have not visted the site and seen the amazing talent of Tim Holtz fans pop along using the Grungy Monday hyper-link on this page.  As a total Tim Holtz groupie this challenge blog is right up my street, now I need the courage to upload my card.

The Challenge......
This week is Tim Holtz s birthday and the challenge was to use at least one of his signature products and create a card fit for the king of craft.  True to form I am lastminute.com, as I was far to busy procrastinating on my design and then the creation and then finally what will people think..................  I really could sit and pass a degree in procrastination.

But finally I created a card that too be honest I am not to happy with, but part of the blog therapy is that instead of either putting it in the bin or the cupboard of doom (really does exist) I need to upload it and move on.
I used techniques  and products that I haven't used before and that was fun,  okay  no it wasn't it was scary.

What TH/Ranger products did I use...............
Ranger Tag, TH Tissue paper, Distress crackle paint, Brushed Corduroy/ Black Soot Distress ink, glass vial, rose ribbon, ribbon,  Grungeboard, heart & wings Die, Fired Brick Distress stain, black Utee.

Here it is in its full glory - Happy Birthday Tim.

Ps forgot to add Sir Tim's blog http://timholtz.typepad.com/

Looking Back!

I thought the best way to boost my Mojo was to have a wee look back at some crafting triumphs of 2011.  My best hi light of 2011 has to be meeting and being taught by the amazing Tim Holtz and also meeting the very cute Mario at AFTH.  I made the decisions to put off having spine surgery for a month to be able to attend the workshop and I have to say it was worth it , Tim Holtz is a total legend.

My second best hi light has to be seeing my work published in Craft Stamper, what an honour that was and the inspiration for the piece came by way of Hels Sheridan who is an amazing talented artist.

Off to find that Mojo.
