Tuck towers..............4 Days of procrastination

Hiya

Well  my first four days off and I am beginning to feel a  tiny bit like the old me! Have to be honest taking far longer than usual which tells me something.  Too much happened at once I think.................... Anyway lets get a way from the doom and gloom.............. what have I managed to create.

First up is my first attempt at using metal.  Wish I had the tools to do the work freehand, but they are now on the wish list.  The effect was created using one of Tims embossing folders, Ranger foil, Alcohol inks.  Have to say I am loving the look.

Next

The next few cards were created using the New spring colours of distress,  Ranger Specialist card stock for the first two (not feeling the love for card stock yet) and a new stamp of mine which I am feeling the love for, which strangely for me was a La Blanch stamp..

Next up on the tuck roll call is.................Using my favourite designer of all time products, the one, the only Dyan.

A couple of cards using Dylusions amazing inks, stamps and sayings.  Gotta love them colours.

Next
Another couple of cards using Distress stains,  Tim stamp and  paperartsy stamp, rock candy crackle.  Love how these turned out.

Next
Had to make another of these cards.  Love the affect of alcohol inks and Tim's stamp, beads, pins and dodgy flower
Then it was time for a little normal crafting with another paper bag book, this time for a new little girly bundle of joy.  Such a cute little memory book.  Love making these books as there are so many little spaces to keep memorabilia in.

Back of the book

Inside two sections - Plus two little cards that tuck away inside the bag to enable the new Mum to write about their new precious bundle of joy.

Well that's me for now.

Thanks for looking and please leave a comment as I love to read them.

2 WEEKS AWOL

Hiya

Well it has been about two weeks since I last posted and boy a lot has happened in two weeks in Tuck Towers.  I wont bore you with the details but a couple of things have rocked me to my core, so much so I have taken a week off work starting from Tuesday to get my head straight.................So not like me.

Anyway what have I been up to too?  My ability to craft is definitely affected by my emotions so not a lot has been happening in the my little space.  Having said that I have made a few bits and pieces.

One of my good friend has a birthday this week, so a wee card was on the agenda.  Pity I never managed to get it in the post on time. But to be honest she would be surprised if I did. She is the editor of Craft Stamper & Scrap 365, so no pressure then.

Made using glossy card stock, alcohol inks, Tim stamp and a die cut flourish a flower from somewhere or another..

I made this for someone I work with who sadly lost her Dad recently. Used: Ranger paints, Dys lovely stamps, wings die cut from Tim, chit-chat stickers, a dab of rock candy crackle paint, bit of ideology and job done.  She seemed to like which I was really happy about.

Next up a paperbag mini book for another person I work with occasionally who has just had a little boy

Assorted papers and card stock, nice little memory book.

Thanks for looking I hope you have seen something you liked.
I would love for you to leave a comment (please note the comments tab is at the top of the post), I read them all.

Things you can do with a Tissue!!!

Hiya

I have been messing around with Paints, inks, wax and tissues today..........................You what tissues I hear you say.

Well this time last year I was a wee bit poorly.  I had a disc removed from my spine (neck) and replace with a artificial one and was off work for a while.  So as you do when you are a crafter I was browsing through a copy of Craft Stamper and found a project by the amazing Hel's Sheridan were she stamped on a tissue and used wax to attach to a canvas.  Well having really disliked using wax on a mini Ranger U  weekend at AFTH in Harrogate I thought this is so not going to work, but I had to have a play..............Loved it so much when i finished that it went up on my wall and not in the cupboard of doom and the project was also featured in October 11 CS under the section about designers that inspire you. Go Hel's

Anyway I digress.

This weekend I have been quite low and wanted to something to lift me. Clicked on Hel's Sunday Stamper challenge this morning and the theme was Brown and Blue.

I love Dylusions sayings stamp, them make me smile and remind me of Dy so much.  So what better way to lift me then a canvas made of the lady's sayings and my fav colours tooooooooooooo.

What did I do

Separate a 2 ply tissue into 2  pieces (discard one of them) and stamp with whatever stamps you want onto the other.  I used Archival coffee ink
Cover a canvas board with paint (I used 3 different colours)and stamp directly onto it to create layers with archival ink  (I didn't use this  particular canvas in the end, but you get the point).

Place the stamped tissue onto the canvas and cut to shape, leaving a small border to wrap around the  back.  Cover the tissue with thin layers of  melted wax and use a heat tool to keep the wax melted until you have the depth of wax you want.  There is no right or wrong amount of wax to use.  Add any metal findings, flowers in fact any thing you want whilst the wax is still wet.
Leave to dry and buff with a towel to create a shine.
.

These were the products i used to create my mini canvas to make me smile.

This is the one that was featured in CS (loving my little Buddha head made out of UTEE)
