Hiya

I have been working on my mirror (which because of an accident is no longer a mirror) and  then I  was going to use it for an entry into CC2 challenge, but by the time i finished it the challenge had rolled onto number 3.

Oh well never mind here are the before and after photos, not sure I like it but all part of the journey LOL.

I wanted to use fragments with photos underneath them, but nothing i had would stick the photo to the fragments.

I used a Faux Patina technique on the key and clock, also use the same technique on glossy card stock which I glued  onto the fragments.

Day 4 and still inking!

Hiya

Well I made it to day 4 and I was still in a creative mood. So I looked for a challenge and found that Hel's Sheridan's Sunday Stamper challenge this week is based on Summer colours.  The colours I have used on the cards below remind me of a sunset. You can find the challenge here http://pinkleart.blogspot.co.uk/2012/04/sunday-stamper-week-202-summer-in-city.html

I found the following technique that i have used in a copy of Craft Stamper last year.  You use Post it notes as a mask for a shape and fill in the space left with 3 different colours of distress  light, medium, dark.  I didn't have any post it notes long enough to cover the card so I cut a few squares of card stock and I off I went.  I love these cards as I can customise as and when I need to with the correct sentiment.

The colours of Distress used are Wild Honey, Rusty Hinge, Barn Door. Two of the stamps are from Dylusions "bits of things set" from the wonder Dyan.

This is my next project.  I am hoping once finished it will look slightly different then it does now.

This was how my craft  space looked after only two days, I am far to ashamed to show how it looks now.

Well thats me for this four days craft "me time".  I have a mega busy couple of weeks coming up at work and do not know how much spare time I will but i'm sure to find a wee hour or two!

Art Part

Hiya

Well I got up still in my creative mood and thought I know I will make a start on my CC2 challenge only to discover that I did not have the Picket Fence mix and the challenge does say by the book.

So then I had to have a little retail therapy to buy some and a few more items some how found there way in my basket, opp's.

I decided to tackle an Art Part square.  I have had a couple of packs of Art Parts for sometime but they scare me a little.  I love what Wendy Vecci, Hel's Sheridan and Linda E all do with Art Parts,  but think it is a little out of my comfort zone.....................But remembering why I started the blog in the first place I began.

After a lot of flappin and procrastination I made this little "thing"

What did I do and use.

  • Cover the frame in Tissue Tape
  • Gave a liberal covering of Picket Fence Stain
  • Covered that with Brushed Corduroy
  • Covered the trim in Picket Fence Stain, then decided to use Espresso Paint Dabber.  Still was not happy so covered that with Snow Cap dabber and wiped most of that off to give me a grain effect.  Added copper brads and Mother of  Pearl little tiny hearts
  • Cover two metal leaves with Lettuce Alcohol ink (not done that before)
  • Stamped my at the moment fav sentiment from the Prof.
  • Using glossy accents added that onto a Fragments charm.
  • Added a light bulb and gears and job done I have a "thing"
not really sure what we become of the "thing".................................

3 day's in a row crafting, will I make 4?

Two days of ink!

Hi
Well I have had a tough couple of weeks and needed some me downtime.  So I took two days off  and decided to get inky and boy did I.

I have had a blog re-vamp as I was getting really fed up with the look of the old background this was done thanks to a great friend MJ who took away and gave me it back finished (well nearly).

I contacted Stampers Anonymous this week over some stamps of Tim's that had started to behave badly even though I treat them better than my husband!  I was just after advice really as obviously I brought them from stores in the UK not directly from SA.  The most amazing customer service ensued I have ever had.  The lady I dealt with was so nice and nothing was a problem at all. Not only are they replacing the actual stamps they are sending me the full sets. Hats off to them.

Joined a close crafting group on FB this week. We are all recruits of Creative Chemistry 101 and total TH fans. Soooooooooooo much talent in one place, totally amazing.

Crafting at Tuck Towers over the last two days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gave my Vaga a bit of a hiding to start the day yesterday.

I decided to just make some backgrounds to start with and see where they took me.

Some of them are on manilla card stock, some are on gloss card stock.  I used one of Tims CC101 techniques using  Perfect Pearls and Blond Moments powders on the manilla card stock

I then decided to add some layers to the above and they are all now works in progress. I then pulled out a few old backgrounds that I had made and stored and started playing with them.  Bit of a mix between Tim and Dyan products ( not a great photo).

Okay what did I actually make after messing around for a day!

Enjoy the journey card.
I brought the old car die a while ago and had never gotten around to using it. I so love this card, even decided to make a sort of insert. I really like using Kraft card, but it is so hard to get in the UK. Going to enter this one in SSSS for this weeks anything goes challenge.

Next up this little beauty.  So not me and out of my comfort zone.......But the whole point of the blog was to do just that. I have to admit I love it.
This was made using Alcohol inks, Ranger gloss card stock, One of Tim's stamps and  a die cut flourish cut in chipboard and painted silver. Finished up with a couple of flowers I have had knocking around forever, two pins and a finally a bead.
This was made using the water colour technique, Used Distress pens and inks, alcohol inks (for the yellow border on glossy card stock) and a little sentiment stamp.  think it is really pretty.

Well that's it for now, who knows what the weekend will bring crafting wise.

Hiya

Well last day of a four day work break....................very sad face.

Too be honest I have not really created  as much as i anticipated that I would, you know when you are at work and think if only.....................I have just not had the energy.  I have had a play with a few techniques that I learnt from Prof Tim in his CC101 classes.  Now I have decided that I need more alcohol inks and more of this and more of that, the list is endless.

My works of art this weekend are

canvass - My friend lost her baby girl Dalmatian this year, very suddenly and she is still in a lot of pain.  I made this canvass for when she is ready to have special visual memories of Roxy around her. i hope she likes it.

Products I used ........................

Mostly Ranger -
 Black/White paint dabber
dylusions - Bubblegum pink
dylusions - Inbetweenies stamps
Grungeboard

Lots and lots of Glossy accents

My other little make was a card for my MIL Birthday

I used Wrinkle free distress technique in a couple of shades of brown.

Products I used..............................
Distress inks - TH
Attic Treasure Stamps - TH
Grungeboard - TH
Sticky back canvass - CH

Sunday blues

Hi

Well where did that week gone???????  More to the point where did the weekend go?

Been totally engrossed in Tim Holtz Creative Chemistry 101 for the last two weeks.  Even though I am a TH fan or should that say obsessive fan I managed to learn so much from the 10 days and it was well worth the $35.00 to take part. The man is 100% genius.

Well this weekend I went over to AFTH to pick up a few supplies, ha, ha.  Anyone who knows me is fully aware once inside the shop my ability to reason goes out the window. Enough said.  Tried to talk the lovely Dy into running an on-line course, but she wasn't having any of it for now.....................Not giving up yet.

I spent yesterday making Easter Cards for a friend, very much a direct copy of the main man's version, but why try and change perfection I say.  Just could not bring myself to do a glittery bow.

This little pile..............

Became these little beauties

Today I have messing around with a few techniques from CC101.  Not sure I have nailed the watercolour technique down yet, but think that is because I am a tad anal and want everything to look perfect.

Next week as my other half is working I will be spending one day cleaning and three days playing sounds good to me.

Well thats me for this week.  Need to go and do some work in prep for tomorrow (what is that all about it is Sunday).

TFL & take care

PS well done to Kaz for getting a well deserved place on Ranger U.  You rock girl.
